What data is collected

Yoku stores your sentence and practice data on your local device. Yoku does not use ads, analytics, tracking, or data brokers. If you use pronunciation scoring in a speech mode, Yoku sends your recorded attempt, the reference sentence, and language information to SpeechSuper so Yoku can provide pronunciation scoring and feedback.

How data is collected

Sentence and practice data is created by you while using Yoku and stored on your device. Yoku uses Apple system features and device permissions for language practice. Voice features may require Microphone and Speech Recognition permission, which you control in iOS Settings.

How data is used

Yoku uses your sentence and practice data to provide language practice features in the app. Pronunciation scoring data is used to return scoring and feedback. SpeechSuper's privacy policy is available here.

Data retention

Sentence and practice data stored on your device remains there until you delete it, delete the app, or reset your device data. Pronunciation scoring data sent to SpeechSuper is handled for pronunciation scoring and feedback; SpeechSuper's privacy policy explains its handling of that data.

Data removal & consent

You can remove local Yoku data by deleting your content in the app or removing the app from your device. You can control Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions in iOS Settings.
